Programs, Events & Volunteering
The Edmonds Elementary Parent Teacher Association raises funds and administers
programs which build a community within our school. For more information, attend
one of the monthly PTA meetings or e-mail a Board Member at
edmondspta@gmail.com.
Regular Events
Welcome Back Social Come meet
PTA board, staff, teachers and families new and returning to Edmonds Elementary.
This event is held prior to the first day of school to kick off the new school
year.
Harvest Festival
The first family event of the school year features many activities including the
popular haunted hallway and cake walk.
Bingo Night An evening event that gets the families together
for some BINGO fun!
Skate Parties
These are regularly scheduled nights for Edmonds Elementary families to
socialize while rocking and rolling around the rink.
Orcastrated Art Show By
April, the teachers have a great selection of original art by the children. The
students choose their favorite piece and we provide a showcase for them. The
entries are judged by art professionals and the entire collection is on public
display for one night. This PTA committee welcomes participation of parents,
staff, and the community in preparing and running this annual event.
Jog-A-Thon The Orcas run around
our new track and earn money for their school. We hear the kids moan and groan
as they run, but it is all smiles when they complete their laps and lap up otter
pops in celebration! The money raised supports the PTA programs such as: Safety
Patrol, Field Trips, Classroom Enhancement, Yearbook. This is our largest
fundraiser of the year and involves a number of volunteer opportunities an
especially fun event for dads to join in!
Staff Appreciation Week & Luncheon What better way to thank
our amazing staff for taking such wonderful care of our children!
Field Day The kids look
forward to this Spring athletic event all year.
Year End BBQ The last big hoorah of the school
year. Although the giant inflatable slide is the big draw, we also have
hamburgers and hot dogs fresh from the grill, tug-of-war contests, bubbles, face
painting Many parent volunteers are needed to run this event.
Graduation A fond farewell to
the sixth graders.
Regular Programs
Safety Patrol Student
volunteers ensure the childrens safety getting to and from school. We ensure
the volunteers receive the recognition they deserve.
Field Trips The PTA helps fund
the rental of busses for our class field trips.
Classroom Enhancement Much of our fundraising money
goes to support this program which allows the teachers a small discretionary
fund to purchase classroom items that are not provided by the district.
Yearbook As a record of
memories for the year, the year book is treasured by students, staff and
parents. This is a PTA Committee which welcomes volunteer time, amateur photos,
and fun ideas for the publication.
Emergency Preparedness Knowing our children are safe if
there were to be a major disaster during the school day gives us all peace of
mind. This PTA committee works to ensure they have the supplies and support they
need.
Spirit Wear
Edmonds Elementary tee shirts, sweatshirts, fleece, etc are offered two to three
times a year for purchase.
Scholarships
For some of the families in our school community it is a struggle to participate
in school activities. This fund helps ensure everyone can enjoy the PTA events
and programs.
Website To
promote less costly, more efficient and timely communication to the whole
Edmonds Elementary community, the PTA pays for yearly web hosting fees for the
www.edmondselementary.com domain.

make a difference!
Talk with your childs
teacher There are usually opportunities to work with the
class as well as projects that can be taken home.
Chat with Mrs. Bartlette The ladies in the front
office have a huge array of responsibilities. Your helping hands will make their
job easier. Stop in and see how you can help.
Check in with the Librarian The library is a central
and buzzing area of our school. There are always projects needing work as well
as events to support such as Book Fairs and Open House.
Reach for the STARS Support
Teaching Arts, Reading, and Science by volunteering to work the STARS auction,
donating items, or soliciting donations from others.
