NEW! All School Musical is STARS 2nd Largest Fundraiser

Besides being a great success as a performance and a great learning opportunity for our students, our All School Musical also has turned out to be a great fundraiser for the STARS Foundation.  The STARS Foundation granted the All  School Musical a grant of $7,000.00 to put on our very popular Willy Wonka Musical Performance.  This year’s expenses for the musical totaled $6,833.98 and the total revenue brought back to the STARS Foundation from ticket sales and business sponsors, etc. was $5,485.00 leaving a total cost of only $1,348.98.  Thanks again to all of our talented students and generous volunteers for putting on an all around great show!

Auction 2010 Letter: The formal auction donation request letter is to present to potential donors (businesses one frequents, employers, anyone who may be willing to donate to our auction) when asking for donations. 

STARS Auction Form 2010: The procurement form is for any donor (business or parent/friend of EE families) to fill out and return to the STARS auction committee.  The procurement form lets us know how to describe the item being donated, the value of the item, a contact person, and any special information regarding the item...like does it need to be picked up etc.  Also, it serves as a tax document with our Tax ID # on it, so the donor can claim a donation on their taxes.

What is STARS?

A Brief History…

In 1998 the “Orca”Strated Art Show was established to encourage art enrichment in our school.  At the same time another group of parents began working to enhance the science program.  They combined their efforts to provide enrichment programs and the non-profit STARS foundation was formed in June 1998.  A dinner auction was chosen as the means to raise funds.  The first auction took place June 11, 1999.  Since that time, STARS auctions have raised over $200,000 for our E.E. students!

How does STARS distribute funds…

Teachers, parents and students are eligible to make requests for enrichment activities and projects through a grant writing process.  The STARS Foundation Board, a group of 9 parents and teachers, meet twice a year to approve grants and oversee the distribution of funds according to specific STARS guidelines.

Results…

The February 2008 STARS auction raised over $45,000!  Since then, more than $40,000 in grant requests have been approved, with $500 for each class for field trips.
